Church guide

Praise the Lord for His protection, His provisions and His promises. We went into church on Wednesday the last part of June and it was super hot. Called Absten and Sons the next day and they came and checked it out. They said the blower was out and 2 different boards. They replaced it Friday. So we had church in a cool building on that following Sunday. But as we entered the church we noticed the lights were dim and the sound system wasnt working. So Absten and Sons sent out an Electrician. Lightning had hit it all. Then the next day the church was hot again. Absten and sons came back to check the AC. Lightning hit the AC unit again. Took it completely out. So in the meantime we have church the following Sunday in the fellowship building. As we go to use the Sound system out there, yes you guessed it...lightning hit it as well. I highly recommend Absten and Sons. Great service and staff. Also our insurance company, Henderson Insurance in Hurricane is great. They handled the claim and no problems at all. Most of All, I want to THANK the Lord for ALL he does and how He blesses us ALL on a daily basis. He promised He would never leave us nor forsake us....and He hasn't. He promised to supply our NEEDS....which He has. He has put a hedge of protection around this church from the beginning in 2002. With lightning doing all of that damage.. we are beyond blessed that the church didn't burn down. Please stop this day and THANK the Lord for everything. Past , Present and Future. If you don't know Jesus as your personal Saviour, Come see us and we will tell you all about Him and ALL that He done for us ALL. Praise His Holy Name.

Jimmie McKnight will be singing and preaching Sunday January 27th. Sunday morning service is at 11 am and Sunday evening will be at 6 pm. The church is a small country church. We have plenty of seating and is handicap accessible. The foundation is built upon the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no clock in the church, We let the Holy Spirit guide us. It is all the Lords time. If you want to testify and tell about what the Lord has done in your life, that can be done. If you want to raise your hand and praise the Lord or shout Amen, that is perfectly fine. Praise the Lord: We have been praying for Dusty (along with many others) to be saved. Well one of the prayers was answered on Monday evening at the Judgement House in Huntington. Today we all make a eternal decision. You will eternally live for Jesus or you will eternally live for the devil. If this was your last breath, you will live eternally in Heaven or Hell. Please search your heart today. Today is the day of Salvation. We are rejoicing in Dusty giving his life to the Lord. Thank you Jesus for paying a debt that we could never pay. Our sin debt is covered by your blood, when we accept you. Our sins are cast into the sea of forgetfulness. Never to be remembered again. Thank you Jesus for loving us so much and giving up your life that we may live again.

Tonight at church, Calvin said he read a post that said " What if you woke up in the morning with only the things you thanked God for yesterday." That is a very thought provoking statement. Did you thank Him for the everyday things such as your breath, health, home, clothes, spouse, kids, food, water, job, vehicle, and the list goes on. BUT Did you Thank Him for your church ? Your Pastor? Let's think about the church and what it is worth. Jesus is the foundation of it ALL. He died on the cross for ALL. Upon this rock I will build my church. When we have something that is valuable, we hold it close, protect it at all cost, and take care of it. Shouldn't we do the same with our church. The Bible says that in the last days there will be a great falling away of the church. What if you skip church a couple of times only to come and find the doors closed? Would it matter? We shouldn't take it for granted because the day may come that it won't be there. NOW Let's move to you Pastor. If you went to the doctor today and found out you hae Cancer or another serious health issue, you would seek out a second opinion, go to the best doctor, whatever title takes to heal you or keep you from dying. Well, your Pastor gives of his time to study and to bring the word of God. The word that will teach you what is needed to keep you from the pits of Hell and how to accept Jesus Christ as your Saviour, that will give you everlasting life and keep you from dying spiritually YET these things you take for granted, don't thank the Lord for. WHY ? Many people say " I Love" Jesus Church My Pastor But... LOVE has ACTION. Thanks Calvin Antill for making me think !

What a blessed day. We baptized a mother and daughter today. The mother was saved and then a few weeks later, the daughter went into the bathroom at school and asked Jesus into her heart. Today this young lady turned 10 and wanted to be baptized on her birthday. It is amazing when you see what God can do. The heart was changed and now the feet are going where God leads. The mouth is speaking praise, love and encouragement. The eyes see things so differently. Reading the Bible and praying at meals. What a difference God makes in your life. The mom said today after being baptized that she could not find peace. She had hatred, bitterness and anger, and didn't even know why. She was searching for an answer and on mother's day she just started talking to the Lord. It made all the difference. She asked Jesus for forgiveness and she said she has never felt like this before. If there is NO peace, then there is NO God in your life. When you KNOW God, then you KNOW peace. If you are struggling with life and it just isn't working, give your life to Jesus. It will work. I challenge you to surrender to Jesus. If you try it and don't like it, which will never happen, the devil is right there waiting to take you back into the world and all its troubles.

Pastor Appreciation Sunday October 29th. Lasagna, Salad and dessert after the service. Please take time and Thank all men of God. Whether they are a Pastor, Deacon, Teacher, or the head of the family.Thank them and appreciate them.It is a big responsibility to lead the congregation, friends or your family in the way of the Lord. Thank you Pastor Bernie Gatens for being a great example to follow. Thank you Jesus for laying down the path to follow. Prayers please for Brother Jimmie McKnight and his family. His house burnt down and they lost everything. He will be singing and preaching at Shalom on September 24 at 11::00. If you would like to come worship with us and bring a Love Offering for him, I know it will be used right and very much appreciated. He also has 2 of his grandchildren with him which is an added expense. Hope to see you there.

What a blessing this morning.We had a visitor( Virgilio Tabugan) who serves the Lord through his missions work in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. It was a blessing to hear how the Lord is working.They wanted to be able to start 50 churches by 2020, and with God all things are possible.They have reached that goal and want to start 26 more by that date. Virgiluo stated that he walks about 30 minutes and then takes public transit to get to church. Building more churches will allow people's access to get to church easier.. Here in this country, we have the freedom and ability to jump in the car and be at church quickly, yet we fail to go and serve the Lord.One day that freedom in this country may be taken away. Don't take it for granted.Serve the Lord all that you can. Please pray for this missionary and all of the others ones as well who makes a tremendous sacrifice to spread the Gospel. The death, burial and Resurrection bof Jesus so that the lost souls may come to Christ before it's to late.

Merry Christmas. Remember this Christmas that Jesus is the best gift ever given. It is a free gift to all who receive. It will never wear out or go bad, it is a gift that will last throughout eternity. Church services will be as usual on Christmas Sunday. If you have no where to go, Please join us.

October is Pastor / Minister Appreciation Month..Please take time to pray for all men of God who take time to study the word, serve the congregation, and most of all serve the Lord. It is not easy to fill the pulpit every service, week after week, month after month. We all want to give up at times, sit back and do nothing and a lot of the times do just that. But Ministers have to press on..We all have a gift to use for service to the Lord but when we don't want to, or don't feel like it,we don't..Take time to pray, support and thank those who serve Faithfully. May God bless them and you as well.Let us. Join together and finish the race that has been set before us.

Starting tonight, Sunday evening pm services only, will be at 6:00 pm verses 7:00 pm. Wednesday will stay at 7:00 pm. Sunday evening services will start at 6:00 pm until further notice . Sunday School is at 9:45 am Sunday morning services begin at 11:00 am

Today we had a visitor in the church. Your first response may be Praise the Lord...as it should be..Well this young lady is 20 years and has a 18 month old baby...She is a heroin addict..She like many has exhausted all her family resources..until she gets clean..In today's world it is hard for an addict to get clean because Satan offers them the world..This young lady came forward after church was over and gave her life to the Lord..We contacted a friend, Vic and his wife Lisa, and they came right away..Vic counsels with people everyday like this lady..After many calls and texts to many contacts , no one could take her today.We finally called the paramedics, which came and took her to St Mary's to start detoxing.So many shelters but all are full. This shows that there is an epidemic in drug usage..We as Christians need to pray even harder for their souls to be saved..If we as Christians would reach out even farther, LOVE even more then we could see a change in this world..Please pray for Christina and all the others who is fighting this battle.Thank You
